FNSS unveiled the PARS İZCİ 8x8 CBRN Special Purpose Tactical Wheeled Armored Vehicle at TEKNOFEST Southeast in Şanlıurfa. The vehicle is engineered for reconnaissance and sampling missions in environments contaminated by chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear (CBRN) threats.

Why it matters

  • It enables safe detection, diagnosis, and sample collection in hazardous CBRN environments.
  • The vehicle is part of the Special Purpose Tactical Wheeled Armored Vehicle Project and has been delivered to the Turkish Armed Forces.
  • It achieves mine-protected vehicle protection levels while retaining modern armored combat capabilities.

The PARS İZCİ can reach speeds of 100 km/h on asphalt, navigate 60% gradients and 30% side slopes, overcome 70 cm vertical obstacles and 200 cm trenches. Its all-wheel steering and lifting system allow operation in difficult terrain and urban areas. The vehicle is equipped with CBRN detection, diagnosis, and sampling systems, as well as a 12.7 mm remotely operated weapon station.

Why it matters for Turkey: The induction of the PARS İZCİ into the Turkish Armed Forces inventory highlights the country’s growing expertise in specialized armored vehicle production. FNSS Corporate Communications Director Cem Altınışık noted strong export interest from allied and friendly nations, with ongoing discussions that could add a new item to Turkey’s armored vehicle export portfolio, reinforcing its role as a regional defense supplier.
