ASELSAN Invests €60M in Naval Systems

ASELSAN has initiated an approximately €60 million investment to enhance the Turkish Navy's underwater and surface warfare capabilities.

Investment Details

This investment includes three new facilities and two test infrastructures, which will accelerate the development of next-generation asymmetric warfare systems, such as the KILIÇ unmanned underwater vehicle and the TUFAN Kamikaze Unmanned Surface Vehicle.

  • The investment aims to accelerate the development, testing, and production of naval systems, enabling ASELSAN to deliver more systems to the Turkish Navy's inventory.
  • KILIÇ and TUFAN are emerging as cost-effective and high-volume production asymmetric warfare solutions, with KILIÇ capable of being launched from ships, unmanned surface vehicles, and coastal areas.
  • The investment includes the establishment of a submarine systems integration facility at the Gölcük Shipyard and an artificial intelligence sensor and data processing center in Istanbul, as well as plans for a new test center.

ASELSAN's CEO, Ahmet Akyol, highlighted the company's products on 69 ships in Turkey and over 60 ships abroad, with the company involved in the construction of over 40 ships. Akyol emphasized that KILIÇ is designed to bring the kamikaze drone revolution to underwater and is producible in high volumes at a low cost.

This investment will increase the independence and technological capacity of the Turkish defense industry in naval warfare, potentially creating export opportunities for NATO allies and other friendly countries. ASELSAN's move will strengthen Turkey's Mavi Vatan doctrine while contributing to regional maritime security.
