Developed and engineered by MKE to play a critical role in Türkiye’s air defense, the ENFAL-17 Low-Altitude Air Defence Missile System was unveiled for the first time at SAHA 2026. Designed under the “Effective–Simple–Affordable” approach to counter a wide spectrum of threats, primarily Shahed-type fixed-wing UAVs, drones, cruise missiles, and helicopters, ENFAL-17 stands out by being approximately eight times more cost-effective than its counterparts. 

The missile has a 70 mm diameter and is approximately 2 metres in length. Fully compatible with the MKE TOLGA Short-Range Air Defence (SHORAD) System, ENFAL-17 operates with solid propellant and offers an effective engagement altitude of up to 30,000 feet. Upon target detection by radar, the missile locks on using its electro-optical guidance capability. After launch, it can continue tracking the target in-flight via a one-way data link, enabling remote access and mid-course guidance.

 MKE’s extensive expertise in ammunition engineering is clearly reflected in the ENFAL-17. Equipped with a fragmentation warhead, the missile neutralises threats before they can reach their intended targets by detonating in proximity to the threat. With 360-degree engagement capability, ENFAL-17 can be positioned to cover all directions and can be launched at elevation angles of up to 85 degrees. Fully integrated with an AI-supported command-and-control system, the missile can be rapidly deployed and fired from mobile platforms, ensuring operational flexibility and quick response capability. 

MKE engineers are continuing R&D efforts for the next phase, ENFAL-17 Block II. This upgraded version is planned to be integrated into UAV platforms, enabling a new air-to-air engagement concept.
